The Story Behind Nevad Never

I lost my older brother, Chance, in 2017, and my best friend Johnny in 2020. They both passed away from suicide. Losing them was devastating, and for a long time, I felt powerless. But Chance had taught me two things that shaped who I am today: how to draw, and how to make t-shirts. These skills became my way to survive — I would spend hours creating art and experimenting with designs, filling my sketchbook with positive phrases just to lift myself up.

One day, while drawing, an idea hit me: I could turn my art into a clothing brand and raise money for suicide prevention. That’s how Nevad Never was born — from heartbreak, but rebuilt with purpose. If I could tell Chance one thing about this brand, it would be simple: “I came back for you.”

Flipping the Negative

Nevad Never is about flipping the negative into a positive. Life is full of highs and lows, and trauma is universal — even if our experiences are different, the emotions are the same. The negative things we face are the building blocks for positive action. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today if I hadn’t lost my brother.

That’s why the word “Never” in our logo is always upside down. It’s more than a design choice — it’s a symbol. It’s a reminder that even when life feels completely turned upside down, you have the power to change your perspective, rise again, and transform pain into purpose.

Why the Name Matters

The name Nevad Never has layers of meaning. Nevad is my name spelled backward — a reflection of the personal journey that led me here. The brand also represents defiance: people doubted I could make this brand successful, so Nevad Never, but Daven did. Every piece carries that energy of resilience, hope, and empowerment.

A Movement, Not Just Fashion

Every design tells a story — not of perfection, but of survival, strength, and resilience. A portion of every purchase goes directly to suicide prevention programs, helping to start conversations that matter, provide support, and remind people that they are never alone.

When someone wears Nevad Never, I want them to feel one thing: no matter what, you can always flip the negative back into a positive. The light isn’t out there — it’s within you.
